Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor of Property Studies & Valuation

Permanent role conducting teaching & research as part of our Land Management & Systems team.

Mō te tūka | The role

Working in the Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce, you will part of a team providing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in rural and urban valuation, and property management.

Our programmes, including the key four-year Bachelor of Land and Property Management (BLPM), are accredited by the Valuers Registration Board (VRB), the Property Institute of New Zealand (PINZ), and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

As an academic staff member your core responsibilities will include:

  • Advancing and enhancing the teaching and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Initiating, developing and conducting high quality research, collaborating with others inside and outside the University
  • Contributing to the wider functioning of the University

This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln Campus.

Approximate remuneration ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Lecturer: Grade A6, $84,340 - $91,503
  • Senior Lecturer: Grade A7, $97,113 - $124,242
  • Associate Professor: Grade A8, $122,263 - $138,632

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A completed PhD in a relevant field, or other relevant qualifications commensurate with the role.
  • Appropriate relevant industry/professional experience, with expertise in building and facilities management, expertise in the regulatory aspects and management of real estate, urban valuation, property investment analysis, property law, real estate brokerage, or property development and management.
  • Demonstrated evidence of some successful teaching in a relevant field at tertiary level

Candidates without a relevant PhD may be considered if there is potential to complete a PhD and develop a research programme. Level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
