The Department of Mechanical Engineering within the School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences (SECMS) at AUT is seeking to appoint a permanent staff in either at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor position. Candidate should have a Ph.D. and a solid track record of teaching experience and research success in an area of Thermodynamics, Thermofluid Engineering, or Heat and Energy related fields in Mechanical Engineering.
The commencement date will be in May 2024 or by negotiation.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of four departments of the SECMS and currently has academic programmes in Mechanical and Mechatronics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with strong interests in Energy, Design, Materials and Manufacturing, Biomedical Engineering, System Dynamic and Control, Robotics and Mechatronics. Our programs are contemporary and popular, and we have built a reputation of excellence in teaching, research, and engagement with the wider community through the dedication and expertise of our staff. The School currently has over 2800 equivalent full-time students, about 110 permanent academic staff, and approximately 160 PhD students.
This position will involve conducting high-quality research, teaching, and developing academic programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A successful applicant will be expected to contribute to research and postgraduate supervision in one or more of the areas mentioned above through her/his specialist field and take a leading role in service and teaching. The salary level offered, and related workload conditions will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful applicant.

Lecturer - $85,000 - $101,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
Senior Lecturer - $104,000 - $137,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
Associate Professor - $137,000 - $159,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
