TE KAUPEKA TĀTAI TURE/FACULTY OF LAW The Faculty of Law at the University of Otago was established in 1873 as the first law school in New Zealand. The University of Otago is a research-intensive university with a long history of excellence and a leader in legal research within New Zealand. The Law Faculty is situated in Dunedin, New Zealand’s renowned University city. We are committed to working closely with iwi and Māori organisations and mātauraka Māori has become an integral part of teaching and research across the institution. Our relationship with Ngāi Tahu as mana whenua within their takiwā of Te Waipounamu and, through this, as the University’s principal Treaty partner is especially important. The role/ Te mahi Successful candidates will have a postgraduate law degree or equivalent experience and publications. The Faculty particularly welcomes applications from Māori and Pasifika scholars. This is a permanent, full-time (1.0FTE) position, located in Dunedin. This is a unique opportunity for an energetic, creative and committed scholar to make a significant contribution within their chosen discipline while being well supported by a collegial and dynamic Faculty and University. The salary range for a Lecturer is $90,902 to $107,300 per annum. The salary range for Senior Lecturer is $112,482 to $138,182 per annum. The salary range for an Associate Professor is $143,671 to $157,331 per annum. We are seeking a highly motivated person committed to excellence in teaching and having a strong commitment to producing high quality scholarship.
The Faculty is looking for a suitably qualified candidate to deliver high quality research informed teaching in the compulsory Public Law course. Additionally the successful candidate will be expected to deliver elective courses in related topics.
