Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pūkenga | Lecturer to coordinate and deliver the Postgraduate Diploma in Organisational Psychology which will be offered starting in February 2025.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Organisational Psychology is a new programme in the School of Psychology, Speech and Hearing which leads successful graduates to be eligible to apply to register as psychologists with the NZ Psychologists Board. It will be the only registration pathway dedicated to organisational psychology offered by a New Zealand university, and we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about programme development and delivery.

Mōu | Who You Are
The successful candidate will have industry experience and eligibility for registration with the NZ Psychologists Board. A PhD is desired but not required (please note that a Master's degree is required). Experience teaching in a relevant field will be a benefit. The role involves supervision and mentoring of Master's students. Some research experience is beneficial, but an active research programme is not required.

To be considered you will: 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of, and experience in, delivering effective teaching methods that enable a wide range of learners to succeed.
  • Have experience of conducting and receiving professional supervision.
  • Show evidence of reflective learning and continuous professional development
  • Have expert knowledge in Industrial and Organisational Psychology. Areas of expertise include psychological assessment and intervention; selection; learning, training, and development; leadership, motivation and engagement, performance management; work design, organisational change, and development; and health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of bicultural and multicultural issues in Aotearoa New Zealand society, including a commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi | The Treaty of Waitangi, and display a willingness to engage professionally with equity and diversity.
  • Build relationships with organisational psychology practitioners, as well as with professional associations or governing bodies for the discipline (e.g., New Zealand Psychological Society, Institute of Organisational Psychology; New Zealand Psychologists Board).

This role sits within the Academic Staff, Associated Staff and Academic Support Staff Collective Agreement and the following salary scale applies:  Lecturer $89,645 - $108,144 p.a.
