We are looking for a Lecturer in Marketing with a focus on integrated marketing communications and/or contemporary marketing issues. The successful candidate will be part of AUT's  vibrant Department of Marketing which delivers quality teaching and learning experiences in marketing at undergraduate and post-graduate levels. The role contributes to our commitment to high quality, innovative teaching with authentic practice-based assessment.

The appointee is expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence, along with indications of relevant engagement with business and communities of interest. The role will also be able to supervise undergraduate students in their co-operative education (internship) placements and teach some other basic marketing courses as required.  We are particularly interested in those who are passionate about education, student mentoring and engagement in academic and/or broader communities. Designing innovative teaching methods, marking assignments and developing teaching materials amongst other things will also form key parts of this role. 

The Auckland University of Technology Business School has a reputation as a leading provider of innovative undergraduate and postgraduate business education, with strong links to business, employers and professional bodies. It is accredited by AACSB and EQUIS. Our programmes comprise a very successful Bachelor of Business, research and course-work master's degrees, including a Master of Business, a Master of Marketing as well as Master and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.

  • Applicants should have a master's degree in marketing and professional work experience* relevant to the area of teaching. Those with a PhD in marketing and relevant industry experience are also welcomed to apply.

* Please note: Work experience should be at a senior level and of at least two years' duration, within the last five years. Where the experience is not within the last five years, there must be evidence that professional currency has been maintained in the intervening period.

Appointment level and salary will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
