Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Lecturer in Accounting to join the School of Accounting and Commercial Law at the Wellington School of Business and Government.

The role of Lecturer in Accounting is to undertake teaching, in particular in the area of accounting information systems and management accounting, research and research supervision of high quality, to assist in programme development where appropriate, and to contribute to the effective administration of the School, including relationships with practitioner communities and other stakeholders.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

The successful candidate will be an active researcher and enthusiastic teacher, with a record of peer-reviewed journal publications commensurate with the level of appointment. As well as teaching accounting information systems and management accounting, the successful candidate will also be expected to teach accounting and technology, and financial accounting at introductory levels. Experience in establishing successful relationships with professional and practitioner groups would also be desirable.

Applicants should have a PhD. However, applicants who are close to completion of their PhD will also be considered.

Due to the current border and immigration restrictions, applicants must be either:

(a) in New Zealand and legally allowed to work; or (b) New Zealand citizens or permanent residents based overseas who are able to return to New Zealand.

Additionally, the School of Accounting and Commercial Law is the only one of these Schools to hold dual AACSB Business and Accounting accreditation. It also has accreditations with major professional accounting organisations, including CA ANZ, CPA Australia, ACCA and CIMA.
