The School of Sport and Recreation within AUT University is a vibrant school offering programmes from certificate to PhD level across multiple discipline areas. We require a Lecturer that can teach Health and Physical Education within the Bachelor of Sport and Recreation and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research students.  A commitment to embedding mātauranga Māori in learning design and pedagogical practice is required.

This is a 1.0 permanent appointment. This position will require teaching/supervision to take place at the AUT North Shore Campus, AUT South Campus and AUT Millennium.

The purpose of this role is to:

  • Provide quality teaching, supervision, research, and industry engagement in the sport and recreation programmes offered within the School- specifically the Health and Physical Education major of the Bachelor of Sport and Recreation and with contributions to postgraduate papers.
  • Deliver high quality education that meets the needs of students, industry and professional groups, through leadership and innovative teaching and research in the field of health and physical education.
  • Ensure a committed approach to delivering on a programme that values student centred approaches to teaching and learning.

The appointee will contribute to the development of content across the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and will be expected to contribute to the research publication and profile of the School of Sport and Recreation, AUT University.

Applicants must hold a relevant doctoral qualification (or be a current PhD candidate), be active in research, have experience in high quality teaching and be eligible to work in New Zealand.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $101,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
