The School of Sport and Recreation within AUT University is a growing and vibrant school with over 80 staff and 1,000 students, offering programmes from certificate to PhD level across multiple discipline areas. We require a Lecturer who can teach across coaching and sports development within the Bachelor of Sport and Recreation.

This is a 1.0FTE 2-year fixed-term appointment. This position will require teaching primarily courses within our Bachelor of Sport and Recreation where coaching, sport development and skill learning are key components of student learning. A commitment to embedding mātauranga Māori in learning design and pedagogical practice is required.  

The purpose of this role is to:

  • Provide quality teaching, supervision, research, and industry engagement in the sport and recreation programmes offered within the School of Sport and Recreation.
  • Deliver high-quality education that meets the diverse needs of students across different levels of learning, industry and professional groups, through leadership and innovative teaching and research.
  • Ensure a committed approach to delivering on a programme that values student-centred approaches to teaching and learning.

Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand and have experience teaching across different programme levels.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $101,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
