A vacancy exists for a Lecturer and Data analyst/manager within the School of Public Health and Interdisciplinary Studies, in the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences at AUT's North and South campuses.

The primary purpose of this role is to work collaboratively with School researchers and postgraduate research students to undertake research and scholarship within the School of Public Health and Interdisciplinary Studies, Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences. The appointee will provide efficient statistical and data management advice and support to researchers and postgraduate research students (including, but not limited to study design, data management, data analytics, analytical design, statistical analysis, interpretation, and reporting) across a range of research projects at various stages in the research process.

Research disciplines that require analytical support include: Hauora Māori, Pacific Health, public health, environmental health, migrant and refugee health, humanitarian action, global health, disaster risk management and development, health management and leadership, case management, health navigation, gambling and addictions, violence and trauma, health ethics, health law, and scholarship of teaching and learning. Research designs commonly used within the School include: descriptive and observational studies including cross-sectional and longitudinal surveys, experimental studies including randomised controlled trials, Kaupapa Māori, Pasifika methodologies, participatory methodologies and mixed methods designs incorporating qualitative and quantitative methodologies.

In addition to the above, the appointee will contribute to high quality teaching and supervision within the School of Public Health and Interdisciplinary Studies and undertake research in their field(s) of expertise. They will also work collaboratively with staff in the Faculty research office and other Faculty data analyst/managers and actively contribute to Faculty analytics hub activities.

This lecturer position requires a candidate with postgraduate qualification in a related field, demonstrated skills and experience in statistics, data analytics and data management, and excellent written and oral communication skills. This is a full-time permanent position.

Salary: $85,000 - $101,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
