About the role

We are looking for a Learning Technologist at altLAB (AUT's Learning Transformation Laboratory) .

In this role, you will be involved in a range of support activities across a variety of learning and teaching contexts. You will utilise your experience working with Learning Management Systems, as well as your understanding of learning, teaching and assessment processes in tertiary education, to affect change in the student experience. You will also have opportunities to lead or be engaged in innovative learning and teaching projects.

The nature of the work is highly collaborative - building relationships with academic advisors, learning designers and digital media specialists within altLAB, as well as academic and professional staff across the university.

Skills and Experience:

  • Expertise understanding and application of a range of learning technologies, with experience of offering advice, demonstrating problem-solving skills, supporting the evaluation of learning technologies and sharing best practices.
  • Experience with leading/supporting projects and using collaborative and agile approaches to implement allocated project tasks.
  • Clear evidence of understanding of technology enhanced learning, and evidence of applying knowledge of learning technology tools in learning, teaching and assessment practices. 
  • Teaching/facilitation experience, especially in the provision of professional learning, is desirable. 
  • Evidence of fit with altLAB's dynamic, responsive, and service-oriented culture, i.e., that you understand service roles and are a positive, solutions-focused professional who thrives in a collaboration-first environment.

Salary Range: $68,030 - $84,984 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
