AUT Refugee Education Centre requires a learning support assistant to work across a range of age groups and learning sections, assisting in classrooms with either adult or mainstream education (school-age) learners.

An essential qualification for the role is a teacher aide qualification. An English language teaching (ESL/EFL) qualification is desirable.

The role will require the teacher to work in small groups and assist students with higher needs. The role will involve working a 4-day week (FTE 0.8).                                                                                 

The preferred candidate for the role will have empathy for diverse learners who have had a refugee background. The candidate will have good cultural intelligence, good intercultural communication skills, and preferably prior experience working with migrants or former refugees.

Interested applicants should also be able to work in both adult as well as teenage/children's learning environments.

Salary Range: $56,500 - $75,000 Pro-rata (dependent on experience and qualifications)
