Position Overview

The Companion Animal Hospital of Massey Vets is seeking a caring, motivated, organised and enthusiastic person to join our veterinary support team.  We are looking for someone who has a passion for animals, preferably holds a Certificate in Animal Care and wants to work in a stimulating and busy team environment.  

This role is a key part of the Companion Animal Hospital as you will carry out routine cleaning of kennels, runs and other areas of the clinic, ensuring a high level of hygiene is maintained, and Health & Safety guidelines met at all times. You’ll also be responsible for the stocking of clinic consumables and patient food, as well as the upkeep of thelaundry and patient dishes. You will need a keen eye for cleanliness and take great satisfaction in maintaining a tidy hygienic environment.

To be successful this role, you need to be enthusiastic, motivated, organised, show initiative, have basic IT skills, possess a “can do” attitude, and have excellent communication skills. 

We provide 24/7 emergency and in-patient care and you will be required to work between the hours of 6am – 10pm on a rostered basis with either an early or late shift and on public holidays. 

MUST HAVES: 

• Certificate in Animal Care.  
• A positive attitude and a passion for companion animals. 
• Natural empathy toward the cultural, emotional and physical state of our clients and patients alike. 
• Efficient and possess good time management skills. 
• Attention to detail. 
• The ability to be flexible with working hours.  
• Be eligible to work in NZ.
