Ko wai mātou?

Te Mātāpuna is AUT's whare pukapuka. Our name speaks to the special connection AUT has to the underground waterways, tributaries and rivers that continue to flow through Tāmaki Makaurau connecting us to both the Manukau and Waitematā harbours. Each mātāpuna is seen as the fountain of knowledge for their campus. In that sense, the City Campus library is 'Te Mātāpuna ki Waihorotiu', the North Campus library, 'Te Mātāpuna ki Akoranga', and the South Campus library as 'Te Mātāpuna ki Manukau'.

Our aim is to build cultural competence and embed culturally safe practices into our planning and operations across the library. We want to better equip the division to contribute to honouring AUT's commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and living te ao Māori values of tika, pono me aroha.

In this position you will:

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives that honour our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Build culturally safe practices across the division
  • Build relationships and shared experiences across the division that instils confidence in our tangata whenua and tangata tiriti to share this journey

This position is based at the Te Mātāpuna o Waihorotiu but will involve also working at both Te Mātāpuna o Akoranga  and Te Mātāpuna o Manukau.

This is a full-time (75 hours per fortnight) position requiring some flexibility of hours.
