Mahi Ngātahi | Who You Will Work With

You will work with a dynamic team who are passionate about making a difference for student and staff wellbeing.  The team delivers positive and holistic health, fitness, sport and wellbeing programmes to our diverse student community, where UC believes that sport and recreational experiences for students forms an integral component of the UC experience.

You will collaborate and build relationships with mana whenua, local hapū, iwi and other Māori community groups. You will collaborate and build strong working relationships with Te Waka Pākākano, Te Akatoki, UCSA & the Wellbeing Team.

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

In the role of Kaiwhakahau | Active Recreation Promoter (Māori), you will support the wellbeing of UC Māori and other diverse student communities through the co-design and delivery of targeted messaging, events, activations, projects, and programmes.  You will support the team to lift our collective knowledge and application of bicultural practice across our service.  

Mōu | Who You Are
You have experience in the Active Recreation/Health promotion sector or a similar field. You have experience in networking effectively and consulting with a variety of people, services, and organisations.

You understand Māori models of health, including Te Whare Tapa Whā and Te Pae Māhutonga.  You can share your passion and competence in Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori with our team, to help transition our service to deliver better care, experiences and outcomes for all. 

You have marketing/content creation skills and knowledge to reach our target age group on relevant social media channels.
