He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Kei aku nui, kei aku rahi, anei he tūranga e whakakōrero ana i ngā mātāpono o Te Noho Kotahitanga, waihoki e hāpai ana i te whakakitenga o Te Whare Wānanga o Wairaka, arā ko te Manaakitia te Rito. Kei raro iho nei ētahi whakamāramatanga mō te tūranga nei.
At Unitec, we're passionate about the power of education to positively change the lives of our students, their whānau and the wider hapori. We make sure our learners are well equipped for the future needs of employers, by providing them with a mix of hands-on and classroom based learning.
There are a small number of Kaihautū that work within Unitec's Māia team, and we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the team. Māia is underpinned by the principles and values of Te Noho Kotahitanga, the Māori Success Strategy and Unitec's Manaakitia Te Rito strategy. The Kaihautū role is diverse, but one of its core focus areas is to embed mātauranga Māori across Unitec in a way that supports the success of tauira Māori and all students.
He kōrero mōu: About you
You will need to have a sound understanding of staff and academic processes within the tertiary education setting and have a depth of understanding in respect to ako practices that lead to improved educational outcomes.
Having an understanding of te reo me ngā tikanga and being able to share the beauty of Te Ao Māori is highly desirable. You will have strong relationship building skills, effective at communicating with a range of different groups and individuals, and an understanding of how to operate in a mainstream setting.
It is essential that you hold a post-graduate qualification or be working towards completing one.
Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer
The role is a fixed term, full-time role working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
Please note: we do not always work to fixed closing dates and may start considering new applications as they are received so we encourage you to apply early.
Unitec is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We welcome and celebrate diversity and are committed to building a supportive and inclusive environment for all.
