Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
The role of Kaihāpai Oranga | Health and Wellbeing Promoter is to support the wellbeing of the UC student community through effective delivery of peer support, proactive education, events, projects and other initiatives. Leading the development and implementation of the University's Kaiwhakatere Oranga Peer Support Programme, the Kaihāpai Oranga oversees a team of student Wellbeing Navigators. The role involves strategic collaboration, proactive student engagement and continuous programme improvement.

Mōu | Who You Are
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual with experience leading or managing health-related or wellbeing initiatives. To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a college or university in Health Sciences, Psychology, Social Work or other relevant field.
  • experience in either the Health services/Health promotion sector or the education sector focused on health and wellbeing
  • excellent intrapersonal skills to be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders
  • a strong understanding of wellbeing models, in particular Aotearoa specific approaches to managing health and wellbeing
  • experience with event management and health promotion activations
  • demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi including an understanding of Māori models of health, Te Whare Tapawhā and Te Pae Māhutonga, or demonstrate a willingness to learn.
