As a member of Te Kura Tāura | UC Graduate School, you will be supported by colleagues with expertise in researcher development, wellbeing and pastoral care, and academic administration. Te Kura Tāura welcomes a plurality of research students and co-supports them, alongside their supervisors and respective faculty, in ways that value their strengths and empower them on their research journey.

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

Support graduate research students, and their supervisors, in the development of their research, incorporation of Vision Mātauranga, including mātauranga Māori and kaupapa Māori research, and the consultation and facilitation of the ethical clearance process.  

Identify Māori opportunities and needs around graduate research, and develop workshops and hui to address those needs.

Assist and support academic staff to develop their supervisory capacity, to grow numbers of Māori students in line with UC's Te Rautaki Māori.

Assist Māori academic staff to develop their graduate research supervisory capability and identify and secure appropriate funding sources for their student's research

Develop a framework in conjunction with Kā Waimaero | Office of Treaty Partnership for engagement with Māori stakeholders and broker research partnerships.

Mōu | Who You Are
You hold a Masters degree, have significant experience working in tertiary education, and you have a deep understanding of graduate research practices. 

You are knowledgeable and passionate about tikanga Māori, Vision Mātauranga and ideally are competent in te reo Māori. You have a sound understanding of bicultural issues and Te Tiriti of Waitangi and how these relate to graduate research.

You enjoy collaborating in a team environment and supporting a people from a variety of backgrounds.
