Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
We have an exciting opportunity for a Personal Assistant to work alongside Professor Gail Gillon, Director of Te Kāhui Pā Harakeke | Child Well-being Research Centre, to ensure the smooth running of the Institute and liaising with community and other Faculty-relevant networks across campus. This is a unique opportunity for someone interested in working in a prestigious academic environment alongside researchers and other professionals, all working to support children's holistic well-being.

It is a diverse role with many aspects that change at various times during the year. The role will provide new opportunities to expand as a personal assistance by offering the experience to work with researchers, potential and existing students and being involved in some project management work.  

Mōu | Who You Are
To perform successfully in this role you will ideally have:

  • significant experience in a high level administrative/PA role
  • excellent presentation and an exemplary customer service approach
  • a very high level of communication, accuracy and report writing skills
  • a high degree of initiative with excellent decision making and problem solving skills.
  • proficiency dealing with high volume emails, along with diary management skills
  • experience in managing a diverse workload and working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced role
  • experience supporting senior manager(s) in a professional environment
  • advanced Microsoft suite knowledge.

UC's Child Well-being Research Institute is where 'nurturing research excellence to support children's holistic well-being' takes place. You will be working closely with a dynamic, interdisciplinary group of researchers and other professionals as part of the Child Well-being Research Institute team. You will located at Manawa, a state-of-the-art health and education research hub in Christchurch's central city.
