The opportunity / Te Whiwhinga mahi
NMIT are looking for a Hospitality Supervisor to support the service delivery of the Institutes Nelson and Richmond Campus venues, commercial operations and events. This is a fulltime permanent role working on a roster basis. You will need to be able to work 37.5 hours Monday-Friday and the occasional Saturday. Rosters are developed two weeks in advance, five days on and two days off.
The key responsibilities for the role are:
- Actively participate with the Hospitality Team Leader in planning, promotions, production and sustainability across all Hospitality service delivery.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high standard of Hospitality service and event delivery is maintained.
- Provide front line support and supervision for Hospitality services and operational event functions undertaken by the team.

To be successful in this role you will need:
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
- Strong, confident interpersonal skills with proven experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships
- Up-to-date knowledge of regional and industry food trends and safety compliance standards
- Experience working in basic food production for events or in cafe service as outlined in the attached job description
- Barista skills are desirable
