Toi Ohomai delivers quality vocational education and training to both domestic and international students, across five main campuses in Rotorua, Tauranga, Taupō, Tokoroa and Whakatāne, and numerous delivery sites across the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato. 

Toi Ohomai is now a division of Te Pūkenga – New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology and part of a transformational change unifying all 16 Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics across Aotearoa; together with other work-based, provider-based and online learning. Collectively we will be NZ’s largest tertiary education provider with national and regional reach enabling learners and employers to move seamlessly between workplaces, other educational offerings and locations as their needs change.

The Facilities Administrator ensures the smooth operation of a number of systems and processes, including a Hardcat helpdesk system, Poolcar fleet management system, Tech1 finance system and team filing system. The ideal candidate will be responsive to customer needs, always think one step ahead and continuously think how things can be improved for the team, colleagues and students. They will enjoy involvement in projects, will have a customer-service heart, be able to build great relationships and will be a great team-player. The Facilities Administrator will be willing to assist with some hands-on support when required.

Reporting to the Head of Facilities, this role will contribute significantly to the smooth running of the Facilities department by:

  • Logging customer jobs into our asset management system and update their progress as needed
  • Raising purchase orders for goods and services
  • Organising contractors for various work to be carried out around our campuses
  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Managing the PoolCar system – car booking and servicing requirements
  • Arranging travel bookings
  • Looking after the Facilities Mailbox
  • Coordinating external room bookings
