The Open Polytechnic is currently revising its Engineering Mathematics course. This level 4 vocational course covers a number of generic concepts and will be used in both the Mechanical Engineering Diploma and the Certificate in Career and Study.  

We currently are seeking to contract a subject matter expert for a period of 80 hours between June and August 2017. You will be working with an educational designer to:

  • Develop appropriate case studies
  • Design internal assessments and an examination for those students who need to meet IPENZ requirements
  • Create material that covers engineering fundamentals and basic sciences, including computing and mathematics. A copy of the course descriptor is available on request.

Specifically responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing existing course material and identifying what content needs to be modified, added or deleted in order to ensure it meets the requirements of the updated course descriptor
  • Participate in a planning session and project meetings as required
  • Provide current, technically accurate and relevant unrefined content and subject matter expertise to the Educational Designer
