Expression of Interest: NZ3508: New Zealand Diploma in Legal Executive Studies (Level 6)

Subject Matter Experts

The Open Polytechnic will be redeveloping courses within the New Zealand Diploma in Legal Executive Studies. We are looking for a number of experts to assist the project development team in redeveloping these courses.

The programme includes a range of six 20-credit courses at Level 6 on the NZQA qualifications framework, covering Law Office Practice; Property Law and Practice; Wills, Trusts and Estates Law and Practice; Litigation Law and Practice; Business Law and Practice.  Our goal is to redevelop 4 of these courses over a period of 4 months (from November 2021 - February 2022). The redevelopment will be done by a dedicated project team beginning with Property Law and Practice; Law Office Practice; Wills, Trusts, and Estates Law Practice; and Introduction to Legal System.

Subject Matter Experts

We need skilled and experienced people who have employment, training or education experience in one or more of the following areas: Law Office Practice; Property Law; Wills, Trusts and Trust Accounting; Estates Law; Litigation Law and Business Law. The time commitment for these roles is expected to be a few hours a week, depending on the specific requirements of the courses being developed, from 01 November 2021 - 01 February 2022.

Subject Matter Experts / Advisors will provide input in and feedback to specific parts of the development, as needed. Specifically, they will:  

  • Consult with the development team to contribute to courseware development with focus on their key area of expertise.
  • Answer specific questions from the development team with focus on their key area of expertise.
  • Conduct peer reviews of course materials.

Particular areas of expertise required  

  • Relevant and up to date academic knowledge and/or practical experience in one or more of the following areas: Law Office Practice; Property Law; Wills, Trusts and Trust Accounting; Estates Law; Litigation Law and Business Law.
