Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electronics and Software Design Technician to join the Civil and Natural Resource Engineering. In this role you will have the opportunity to design, build, and write software for data logging & control equipment to be used by the department and students for their projects and post-graduate research. You will experience highly varied tasks while being supported by an experienced on-site team.

Mōu | Who You Are
A successful applicant for this role will have a minimum 5 years experience in research and development of electronics hardware within varied and innovative fields, with strengths in Analog circuit design, Microcontroller and digital design, and Printed circuit board (PCB) design. You will also have a NZ Diploma in Engineering (Electrical), specialising in Electronics and Computer Engineering, (NZQA Level 6) (minimum requirement) or BE in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (desirable). You will be adaptable and dynamic, with a comprehensive understanding of electronic and programming principles, as well as PCB design, Analog and digital design expertise. You will lastly have Excellent soldering skills, and at minimum basic workshop machining skills, e.g. drilling, filing, tapping, etc.
