The role/Te mahi

This Electrician position, within the Trade Services team is responsible for repair, maintenance, alterations, and new electrical install work across the Dunedin Campus. Our Electricians thrive on the varied work that the University portfolio provides and quickly enjoy becoming the source of professional advice for our clients on all electrical trade matters.

You will have the opportunity to work on large and meaningful projects across a mixture of residential, and commercial projects, ensuring that the University of Otago buildings and utilities continue to be a safe environment for our students and staff to study and work.

The campus environment has a number of highly serviced buildings with cutting edge control systems installed so there is good opportunity for you to sharpen or develop your skills in controls building management systems

Your skills and experience/ Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

Ideally you will be a qualified and experienced Electrician, with practical and sound knowledge of the Electrical sector.

Other desired qualifications/experience include:
•    Current NZ Electrician Registration and current Electrical Practicing Licence.
•    Practical and sound knowledge of the Electrical sector.
•    Experience in Electrical and Controls installation and maintenance.
•    Comprehensive understanding of the Building Act, Electrical standards, regulations, and Health and Safety requirements.

Controls experience would be an advantage.

This is a full time (40 hours week), permanent position.

Salary listed is the base rate. On-call, overtime rates and merit band progression available.
