Position Overview

The Operational Support team provides in-house professional engineering services and support for the Estate team for all three of Massey University’s campuses (Albany, Manawatū and Wellington) including for Mechanical, Resource consents, Utilities, Energy Management, Sustainability, Electrical, and Control systems. You will have broad management and project management experience that includes Building services, Sustainability, Energy Management, Energy metering systems, and Electrical safety. As the successful candidate you will be a strong communicator, and an inclusive team member who values sharing knowledge and helping others develop. You will have the ability to communicate and build positive and effective working relationships at multiple organisational levels with internal staff and external stakeholders. Your technical background and experience will enable you to make things happen that continuously improve the way the electrical infrastructure utilities are developed and managed. You will contribute to our objective of a single integrated University with lots of opportunities to influence significant change and develop consistent standards.

This is an exciting time to join us as the University’s campuses transition from largely fossil fuel-based heating systems to electricity-based heating systems by the year 2030 as well as with the new private solar farm project about to be built to serve the Manawatū campus.
