Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
The Director, Marketing role is a key position within the Engagement team, reporting to the Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Engagement. You will lead the development and delivery of a bold and future-facing marketing strategy that optimizes digital ROI to support the University's strategic vision from student recruitment to research promotion, community engagement, branding, rankings and reputation. You will lead marketing strategy and innovation across UC.

You will be an outstanding leader who can build on our growth trajectory, successfully bringing together all elements of our marketing services and continuously improve, gather insights, trends and best practices in a competitive market environment.

Are you a marketing superstar with an appetite to take UC's Marketing performance to the next level? With significant senior-level marketing experience, you will be known for your strategic leadership and your proven ability to deliver business results in a competitive market. You will have a strong record of digital optimization to achieve strong ROI on digital ad campaigns.  Ideally, you will  have a track record of success in brand reshaping and change implementation, including in a large institution or organization with distributed customer streams and points of decision-making.

Ōu Whakatairanga - The Marketing Team
The Director of Marketing leads a team that services a broad range of needs to meet the University's strategic objectives with digital prioritisation in all areas. Our Marketing team supports future students' recruitment (both domestic and international), branding, rankings, reputation, in an increasingly digital focus.  The team partners with the wider University to prioritise the upscaling of our digital tools and approach to marketing.

 

What is it like to be a Director at UC?
We are a large and complex organisation, so no two-days are the same!  You will be supporting the Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Engagement and working alongside the other areas of the Engagement portfolio, which are currently led by the following directors: Advancement, Communications and Events, Recruitment, International Development, and 150th Anniversary (to be celebrated in 2023). 

You will enable your portfolios to operationalise the UC strategy. Building trusted relationships, you will support the development of leadership capability and confidence by providing high quality, people-centric leadership solutions and services, focusing on sustainable and outcomes-focused solutions.
