Te āheinga: The opportunity

This is a leadership position working collaboratively across the organisation to deliver the vision and strategic priorities of Unitec. The Director of Ngā Wai a Te Tūī will lead this Research Centre, and in turn, contribute to meeting the objectives of the Unitec Research Strategy. The position also supports and aligns to the Unitec Maori Success Strategy.

He kōrero mōu: About you

You'll be a people leader with executive management experience with at least a Doctoral qualification plus you'll have:

  • Competency in Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori
  • Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments
  • Extensive research project management experience
  • Senior Kaupapa Māori researcher experience
  • Proven track record of working with Māori and Māori enterprise
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the tertiary education environment
  • Proven track record in delivering results in a commercial /business environment and growing and diversifying sources of profitable income
  • Demonstrated understanding of managing and mitigating business risk
  • A track record of sound financial management
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to operate in a bi-cultural environment
