Ōu Pūmanawa Tangata – The UC Team

Āu Mahi – What You Will Do

As New Zealand opens its borders, you will lead the collaborative strategy process to reshape and reset UC’s internationalisation agenda towards our 2030 strategic vision, with special emphasis on online and transnational education (TNE) as well as global citizenship and outbound mobility. By building trusted relationships, you will collaborate closely with Faculties and service divisions to identify opportunities for programme development, strategic brand positioning in key markets, digital optimisation of marketing, offshore representation to leverage recruitment efforts, and policy development.

Ōu Pūmanawa Tangata – The International Team

The international Team sits under the leadership of the Assistant Vice-Chancellor Engagement. The team works in close collaboration with other areas of the Engagement portfolio, currently including Advancement, Communications and Events, Recruitment, 150th Anniversary, and Marketing. The team crucially supports our internationalisation agenda, including networks, strategic partnerships, research collaboration, rankings strategy, and international recruitment (from schools through to  PhD), from on-shore and key offshore markets.

What is it like to be a Director at UC?

We are a large and complex organisation, so no two-days are the same!  You will be supporting the Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Engagement and working alongside the other areas of the Engagement portfolio, which are currently led by the following directors: Advancement, Communications and Events, Recruitment, Marketing and 150th Anniversary (to be celebrated in 2023).

You will enable your portfolio to operationalise the UC strategy.  By building trusted relationships, you will support the development of leadership capability and confidence by providing high quality, people-centric leadership solutions and services, focusing on sustainable and outcomes-focused solutions.

We are looking for someone with diverse leadership experience, extraordinary collaboration skills and commercial acumen to build on our growth trajectory. You will have experience in strategic business insights and have a solution-oriented partnership mentality to be able to formulate and deliver our internationalisation strategy. You will also have extensive experience with international partnerships, leading and developing policy, strategy and risk management activities.
