Position Overview

Digital Content Creator - Social Media
College of Creative Arts
Massey University Wellington

Are you social media savvy, energetic and have a way with digital content? Do you want a role that is embedded in a highly creative environment?

The College of Creative Arts at Massey University is looking for an extraordinary digital content creator for social media. Someone who likes discovering and promoting unique and interesting stories about our students, research and all the great work that the college does. You’ll lead the social media activity for the College while working with some of the country’s most creative brains to deliver a high quality and exciting experience.

This role incorporates social media channel management, data analytics, campaign support, and you’ll be pretty focused on the production and creation of high quality content, from video to gifs, to Instagram stories and everything in between. You will be happy and willing to pick up and run with other social media and marketing opportunities as they arise.

We want someone who can demonstrate they’ve done this sort of stuff before. It’s not a role for the faint-hearted as demands come thick and fast and you’ll be managing multiple channels. You’ll be a social media expert, a producer of content, a people person, super organised and able to multi-task. You’ll be at the forefront of social media and digital trends.

You will be an experienced social media professional, highly motivated with a passion for the visually engaging, can work quickly and under demands, love attending events, can connect with all different types of people, able to work both independently and within a team. If you’re interested in art, design or music, even better.

To be successful in this role you’ll need to be technically adept not only in social media but in the creation of video content in particular. You also need to be up to date with digital content creation and distribution techniques, be analytical, pro-active and culturally sensitive. You’ll be working in a small marketing team but have access to many layers of skill, knowledge and support throughout the university and will also work in collaboration with the Wellington based, Massey University Social Media Community Manager.
