This exciting role sits within University of Canterbury's Advancement Team, which comprises Development (fundraising), Alumni Relations, and Advancement Services.  From its earliest beginnings in 1873, philanthropic support and the generosity of donors and supporters has played a major part in making UC the respected institution it is today. UC Advancement is dedicated to continuing that tradition.

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
Working in collaboration with the Director of Advancement, trustees, and University executive leadership, you will focus on raising philanthropic funds through the procurement of major and principle gifts from high-net-worth individuals in accordance with the CASE Principles of Practice for Fundraising Professionals at Education Institutions .  

Mōu | Who You Are
The ideal candidate for this exciting opportunity will be a proven relationship manager with a strong track record of negotiating and closing significant financial transactions with high-net-worth individuals. You will have an upbeat, can-do attitude, and an authentic and confident communication style. You will be highly self-motivated, but happy to collaborate with others to achieve ambitious goals. And you will have a strong personal commitment to the values UC embraces .

Experience in the tertiary education sector and a successful track record in major gift fundraising are highly desirable, but not essential for a candidate with strong transferrable skills.

This position is a Band 6 (of 8) with a salary range of NZ$99,264 - $124,061.
