The Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science is home to a thriving international community of staff and students, with well-established links with industry, government and NGOs. Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington seeks to appoint an outstanding candidate as its next Dean of Engineering, to bring energy, enthusiasm and a future focus in guiding the implementation of the strategy and direction for the Faculty.

Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Science, Health, Engineering, Architecture and Design Innovation (SHEADI) and as a member of the Division’s executive leadership team, the Dean will contribute to the Division’s vision, strategy and implementation pathways across all academic activities. The role will ensure the achievement of academic excellence within the Faculty, while proactively driving innovation, diversification and a collaborative approach.

The ideal candidate will be PhD qualified and will bring a track record in academic leadership, with a commitment to quality in teaching, learning and research. A visionary and strategic leader, the Dean will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, advocate and inspire, fostering key partnerships across the University, nationally and internationally. With enthusiasm and creativity in identifying opportunities created by a cross-disciplinary approach, the appointee will relish the opportunity to lead the Faculty through its next phase of development.
