The Library is a trusted partner in the University’s research, teaching, and learning, and provides outstanding service when and where our staff and students need it, spaces on each campus to connect and learn, and access to high-quality scholarly resources. 

Our Collection Manager is retiring after many years of service, and we need a someone new to lead the acquisition, management and discovery of scholarly content to meet the teaching, learning and research needs of Massey University staff and students. Reporting to the Associate University Librarian, Resources and Technology, you will lead our dedicated and service-oriented Collections team, contribute to the strategic direction of Library services as a member of Kapa Rautaki | Library Leadership Team, and work with friendly and collaborative staff across all our libraries.

Located at our Manawatū campus, achieving success in this role will require you to have:

  • Experience in leading and managing a team of staff
  • Practical experience in current approaches and challenges involved in negotiating acquisition of scholarly content
  • Extensive knowledge of collection metadata, library services platforms, discovery services and digital workflows, in order to make content as discoverable and accessible as efficiently and effectively possible.

A proactive approach to establishing trusted relationships, both within the Library and with external providers
