Then this job is for you. We invite you to apply for this full-time position of a Clinical Vascular Scientist (Sonographer) in the Otago Vascular Diagnostics Assessment Unit within the Section of Surgery.

About our team/Mō te tīma

We are a team of vascular surgeons, sonographer and research staff using various diagnostic investigations to research the causes and management of vascular conditions.  Our unit provides clinical diagnostic services to Te Whatu Ora Southern, and to the wider community, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases.

The unit is also part of the Vascular Research Group and works closely with other research groups at local, national and international levels.

The role/Te mahi

In this role you will join a multidisciplinary focused clinical research team investigating vascular disease.

This position involves working within a fun team of vascular sonographers in assessing patients with vascular disease, using physiological techniques and ultrasound. Assessments are carried out for the purpose of both clinical patient care and research.

Skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

The successful candidate would be expected and supported to support clinical research and teaching, along with clinical ultrasound services to Te Whatu Ora.

You will have:
•    A post graduate diploma in medical ultrasound (DMU) or an equivalent recognised qualification (We may consider a new graduate with specific vascular training).
•    To be registrable with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB).
•    Good organisational skills.
•    A professional approach and ability to relate when dealing with the public.
•    High standards of both oral and written communication skills.

This position is permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week), commencing as soon as possible.

The salary range for this position is $71,630 to $110,000 per annum.
