Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a fixed term Senior/Consultant Clinical Psychologists to join the Clinical Psychology Training Programme as Clinical Practice Advisors in 2023. With multiple roles available, up to a maximum of 1.5FTE combined, appointments from 0.4FTE to 1.0FTE will be considered.

The Clinical Practice Advisor role involves:

  • Supervision of clinical psychology students in the Clinical Psychology Centre (Kelburn Campus).
  • The potential for being involved in teaching activities across the Clinical Psychology programme.
  • Input into the training curriculum.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be an experienced Clinical Psychologist with experience working in New Zealand. You will be passionate about investing in the future of our profession and enjoy supervising, teaching, and working in an intellectually stimulating environment. Your training and work experience will be from a predominantly behavioural/cognitive-behavioural/”third-wave” approach. Being knowledgeable about Te Ao Maori and bicultural ways of working would be an added benefit.

Key Requirements:

  • Registered with the NZ Psychologists Board in the Clinical Psychology scope of practice.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience.
  • Experience working in the New Zealand public sector.
  • Previous experience supervising students.
  • Established research activity or an interest in conducting clinical research would be desirable but not essential.
