Position Overview

OK, we are really excited about this one! We have a new role for an experienced Veterinary Nurse – is it you?

Our new Clinical Coordinator will be working on the floor with our 40+ amazing, talented nurses for a one-year fixed-term duration to:

·  Help our nursing staff reach their full potential by providing in-situ training, support, and guidance
·  Train and support new nursing team members and ensuring nursing practices, protocols and procedures are maintained and implemented to current best practice standards
·   Provide informal and formal feedback to nursing supervisors about individuals and teams, discussing performance, current issues and provide guidance to enable excellence
·   Recognise CPD requirements for the nursing team and recommend and organise in-house and/or external CPD

This role is going to help our nurses be all they can be, through on the floor training and support. The ideal candidate will have excellent nursing experience, possess clever communication skills, be motivating, engaging and an enthusiastic teacher. You will be working alongside our current nursing team and other Veterinary professionals in New Zealand’s only veterinary teaching hospital facility.

MUST HAVES:

·  Veterinary Nursing Qualification, Diploma or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology
·  Minimum six years’ experience in companion animal veterinary practice
·  A genuine interest in training others to succeed
·  Be eligible to work in NZ

Massey Vets provides 24/7 Emergency Critical care, along with Community Practice and Referral clinics.  This leads to a both challenging and extremely rewarding work environment. Massey’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital is a state-of-the-art, fast-paced facility offering New Zealand’s most comprehensive veterinary expertise. We are the only 24-hour pet emergency centre in the central North Island so at times we have a high case load, and our patients require a very high level of nursing care. As part of Massey Vets, you will be involved in the teaching of Bachelor of Veterinary Science students.
