Catering Coordinator

AUT Events offers a comprehensive catering and event management service at AUT University's City, South and North Shore Campuses as well as a range of external venues in and around Auckland.

We are now requiring a catering co-ordinator who will be responsible for all aspects of catering bookings, assessing client requirements, and co-ordinating catering requirements for AUT and external clients. This role includes the administration and delivery of the AUT Online Catering Service.

Having attributes such as confidence, being methodical, logical & proactive, being a good listener & having strong attention to detail are all extremely advantageous to securing this position.

This role will also offer support to the event operations team once administrative duties for catering orders are complete.

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • An understanding of event management systems such as Ungerboeck
  • Previous hands-on experience in catering and events, or another relevant hospitality environment of at least 2 years
  • Preferably a hospitality diploma/degree
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with work practices
  • A high standard of word processing, database and excel skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Innovative and forward-thinking ability
  • Flexible work attitude
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • A full, clean driver's license

This position is available now. Note that you must be currently eligible to work in New Zealand and be able to undertake some heavy lifting at times.

Salary Range: $56,135-$61,318 (Dependent on experiences and qualifications)
