Casual Lab Assistant

We make sure our learners are will equipped for the future needs of employers, by providing them with a mix of hands-on and classroom based learning, at our two campuses in Mt Albert, and Waitākere.

In this role you'll play a critical role in our learners' journey here at Unitec. You'll enable their success through providing professional, high-quality support for our Bachelor of Healthcare students by assisting our Senior Technician at our beautiful Waitākere campus.

The Opportunity

You will be providing a high standard of service to students and staff for a wide range of health programmes.  Your role will include general laboratory housekeeping and maintaining equipment. 

This is a casual position working. The scheduled days/hours are yet to be determined and we can take your other commitments into account when confirming these.

If you can tick the following, we'd love to hear from you:

• Holding or working towards a relevant degree and/or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated good multi-tasking and organisational skills
• Excellent time management skills and experience in managing high workload
• Use of own car, if required, to work/travel to other campuses
• Full and clean driving licence and ability to drive manual cars

Full training will be given but experience of the education sector and knowledge of working in a science laboratory, including laboratory health and safety, would be an advantage.
