Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Business Analyst. In this role you will work collaboratively with members the wider team, subject matter experts and other teams and business groups to ensure the successful implementation of assigned project workstreams, including:

  • Facilitating the capture of current state and future design with end users and stakeholders, ensuring their needs are listened to and responded to.
  • Define, document and analyse processes, systems, gaps and information to ensure the future design proposed is fit for purpose.
  • Work with stakeholders and system users, coordinate workstream changes and improve business performance.
  • Measure the benefits and impacts of changes through development, testing and implementation to ensure the desired outcomes are achieved.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a motivated, customer-focused well rounded Business Analyst who can take the initiative, manage challenging workstreams and identify and resolve complex and emerging issues.

You will consider yourself a generalist BA, perhaps with a strong interest in process development and an appreciation for change and project management.

We are working largely with an Oracle HCM product (Requirement Module), SharePoint data management. While strong technical writing skills and system configuration and administration experience are required in this role, you will also bring the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, and a logical systems mindedness as part of your toolkit.

You will be a highly organised self-starter and natural relationship builder, who relishes working autonomously as well as contributing positively to a high performing team. You will need effective time management and forward planning to balance meeting project deadlines and engaging effectively with users across the University environment.

Key Requirements: 

  • A minimum of 4 years in a Business Process or Systems Analyst position preferably experience in recruitment implementation project.
  • Proven conceptual and analytical ability, with the ability to deal with emerging issues that contain a high level of ambiguity, translating and documenting complex information in a way that enables business and end user understanding.
  • Demonstrable experience working with customers to gather, understand and clarify their needs through interviews, workshops, facilitation or similar.
  • The ability to influence others towards changes in behaviour, process and approach in order to adopt the desired solution.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. 
  • Experience in an HR environment and working with people data will be an advantage.
