Position Overview

Amongst its many service functions, Estates Management is focused on maintaining and operating the amenities, buildings, and grounds at Massey’s three campuses. The service plays vital roles in contributing to a positive student and staff experience, enabled by a renowned, aesthetically pleasing and functional physical environment and high-profile sports grounds and facilities.
Within Estates Management, the Campus Services Grounds team based at the Manawatū campus in Palmerston North, has an exciting opportunity for two Apprentice Grounds persons to join our team – one in Turf Management and the other in Horticulture. While developing considerable on-site knowledge and skills, each apprentice would undertake and gaina NZ Level 5 qualification in the respective disciplinary area.

To be successful you must have:
- A passion for working outdoors and entering a career in Turf Management or Horticulture
- Minimum of NCEA Level 2 English and Mathematics
- A strong desire to learn and gain an industry qualification
- A clean New Zealand driver’s licence
- Ability to demonstrate a passion for growing plants, or field sport experience is desirable.
- Driven by high level personal and professional standards
