Applications Team Leader
Lead a team & oversee enterprise applications, driving reliability, continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement, & service excellence.
Mō te tūka | The role
Join us as an Applications Team Leader based in our Information Technology Services (ITS) team. In this role, you'll lead the University's Applications team, ensuring our enterprise applications are secure, reliable, fit for purpose, and aligned with the needs of teaching, learning, research, and business operations.
Working closely with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams, you'll provide leadership across application support, service delivery, continuous improvement, governance, and team capability development. You'll also play a key role in enhancing services, managing risks, and delivering great outcomes for our university community.
Some tasks of the role include:
- Leading and coaching a high-performing Applications team
- Providing senior support and escalation for enterprise applications
- Driving application lifecycle management and continuous improvement initiatives
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and service partners
- Managing application governance, risk, security, and compliance activities
- Supporting upgrades, enhancements, and the successful delivery of new capabilities
Mahi & Wāhi / Utu | Work pattern, location & salary
This permanent role is based at our Lincoln Campus and works 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE).
The salary for this position is $110,000 - $125,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Significant experience supporting and administering enterprise business applications within a complex environment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including application, integration, and data-related issues
- Experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating technical teams
- Sound knowledge of application lifecycle management and IT service management practices
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, end users, vendors, and service providers
- Relevant Information Technology qualification (or equivalent experience), with strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence
