Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Mata Ahupae – Administrator – operations and programme support to join Te Kura Mātai Hinengaro | School of Psychology. We are looking for someone with experience in and an aptitude for administration to support the day-to-day operations of our School.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and timely administrative and operational support to staff within the School of Psychology.
  • Assist the School with HR-related tasks, including recruitment and onboarding of casual and fixed term staff.
  • Coordinate School financial activities, including programme budget tracking, processing expenses, invoices and assistance with research grant administration.
  • Work with academic staff to meet course administration deadlines efficiently, using prescribed University processes, systems, and software as well as maintaining oversight of information throughout each trimester to ensure policy compliance, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with key external and internal stakeholders, and other departments within the University.
  • Collaborate with other administrative staff to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.

You will:

  • Be highly organised, self-motivated, and enjoy working in a team.
  • Have proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with university-specific software is desirable but not essential.
  • Have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritise, plan, and handle multiple tasks.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Previous administrative experience in a university setting is highly desirable.
