The role/Te mahi

As an Administrator in the Department of Psychology within the Division of Sciences, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of this team. You will support academic teaching staff in undergraduate and postgraduate administration.  The work involved will include:

•    Course administration.
•    Event organisation.
•    Meeting support, email and calendar support and other general administrative tasks.
•    Recruitment – requisition administration and onboarding coordination for new staff.
•    Financial administration – purchase card reconciliation, reimbursements, purchasing and invoicing.

We require a great team player, a positive well-organised person with excellent time management skills and the ability to form good working relationships.

You will be part of a wider team of Administrators working within the Division of Sciences.

Along with excellent administration skills, a strong customer service focus is critical to success in this role. We are looking for candidates with:

•    Proven experience as an administrator or in a customer-facing, support-based role.
•    A passion for delivering exceptional service to customers and ability to multitask.
•    A desire to learn new skills and a commitment to contributing to a positive team environment.
•    Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programmes.
•    Excellent organisational and time management skills.
•    A self-starter attitude and the ability to work as part of a team and individually.
•    Solutions focused with a willingness to be adaptable and committed to continuous improvement.

The Department of Psychology is part of the Division of Sciences at the University of Otago, and consists of more than 80 academic and professional support staff. The Department has an excellent research culture and has been ranked in the top 50 Psychology Departments in the world since the inception of the QS world rankings.

Client Services are a team of highly skilled professional staff responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience to all the University’s internal and external customers.

This is a full time (37.5 hours per week) permanent position, based in Dunedin.

You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this position.

These positions are remunerated at Level 5, with the appointment range $65,281 to $69,648 per annum.
