Academic Staff Member - Legal Studies Team

We are looking for an Academic Staff Member (ASM) to join the Legal Studies Team within the Faculty of Business, Design and Service Industries. This is a full time role however, we are happy to consider applicants seeking part time work.

The roles involves teaching on our NZ Diploma in Legal Executive Studies and NZ Diploma of Conveyancing programmes.
As an ASM within this team you will be required to teach fully online: tutor students, run online tutorials, review and update resource; set and mark assessments and enter results; pastoral care of students; and actively participate in the team and wider organisation environment. As the programme is delivered completely online, you are not required to be based at our Tauranga or Rotorua Campus.

The key responsibilities for this position include:

· Delivery of NZ Diploma in Legal Executive Studies, and/or NZ Diploma of Conveyancing programmes

· Developing, planning and implementing student assessments resource material

· Monitoring student progress and results and providing timely and accurate advice and support as required 

Skills, experience and qualifications required for this role include:

· Experience in teaching fully online programmes (ideally Moodle)

· Degree level tertiary qualification in Law

· Or/Tertiary qualification including specific area of law to be taught 

· At least three (3) years’ work experience in the legal fields of:

  • Commercial law
  • Estates Law
  • Litigation Law (emphasis on Civil) 

· The ability to be self-motivated with high work ethic
