We are looking for a permanent part-time Administrator to work as part of our team who collaboratively provide exceptional administrative service across multiple Academic work areas, while also managing the flow of people through the Learner Hub.

We are initially seeking someone to work 22.5 hrs per week between Monday to Friday with days and hours to be negotiated.  We are also interested in hearing from you if you are available to work more hours.

To be effective in this role, you will be highly organised, with great communication skills and attention to detail. The key responsibilities for the role are to:

  • Manage, coordinate, and complete all administrative tasks that support assigned academic work area(s),
  • Provide excellent customer services to internal and external stakeholders,
  • Manage the flow of information and complete data entry into appropriate systems while ensuring systems are fully functional, kept up to date and information can be easily interpreted by others,

About you / He kōrero mōu 

To be successful in this entry level role you will need:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years secondary schooling with 5+ years' experience in an administration/ business support role, OR
  • NCEA level 2 (or equivalent) with 4+ years' experience in an administration/ business support role OR
  • NCEA level 3 (or equivalent) with 3+ years' experience in an administration/ business support role

You will also be able to demonstrate that you are:

  • Proficient working with systems and administrative processes,
  • Flexible and can use your initiative to quickly adapt to different work areas,
  • Capable of embracing change as NMIT transitions to new ways of working as Te Pūkenga and have a growth mind set,
  • Methodical with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail while working to deadlines,
  • Able to exercise judgement, have a mature outlook and proven ability to maintain confidentiality,
  • Able to organise, multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.

 The following experience is desirable but not essential: 

  • Relevant tertiary certificate or diploma in Business Administration.
  • Experience in a tertiary education sector.
  • Experience in an administrative support service Centre environment or where you were assigned different work areas.
