What you will be doing

This is an exciting role leading our Field Research Network (FRN) team to ensure they effectively maintain and develop resources and meet client needs and requirements. You will have oversight and management of PFR's Farm, Orchard and Glasshouse operations across our New Zealand Facilities and provide insights through analytics and reporting, ensuring sound decisions are made in relation to planning and priorities.  This will include a focus on financial, impact and milestone delivery, allocation of resources and maintenance of soil and land assets for future use.  Using your experience in people leadership you will coach, develop and mentor a resilient FRN Leadership team to understand our strategy, have an in-depth knowledge of the organisational objectives and ensure that our clients receive high-quality service in support of science.

What you will need

  • As a minimum, a Bachelor's degree in either horticulture and/or business preferably
  • Knowledge of the New Zealand horticulture and arable industries including production systems and the broader value chain.
  • Experience in the leadership and management of people, equipment and finances and delegation of workload.
  • Proven record of achievement via facilitation and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
  • Well developed budgeting and financial management skills.
  • Advanced communication, relationship and project management skills.
  • Flexibility to travel will be essential
  • Superior Microsoft Office applications skills.
