What we are looking for | Ngā whainga matua

In this exciting new opportunity, you will be a part of a dedicated team working together to create opportunities to weave western science, co-innovation design and Mātauranga Māori for the benefit of Aotearoa, New Zealand. Our Māori strategy Tono guides Rangahau Ahumāra Kai, Plant & Food Research in achieving this vision.

You will bring fresh perspectives and solutions to embed the importance of Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti/ The Treaty of Waitangi in our organisation.   Pioneering learning and development initiatives, this role will encourage and support Te Ao Māori to be respected and normalised in our everyday work.  You will have opportunities to connect and work across the regional and national Research, Science and Innovation system as you lead intelligence gathering to inform decision-making that leads to world-class research in partnership with Māori. Co-innovation in this role will involve drawing on trends, technologies and insights to enhance our business activities to deliver meaningful benefits to Māori.  Of particular focus is growth in the talent pipeline for Māori, developing current and future capabilities for the organisation. 

What you'll bring | Ngā tino Pūkenga me ngā Wheako

As a minimum you will have a Bachelor's degree in Law, Arts or Social Sciences or relevant experience, with existing Analyst or Advisor experience in a public or private organisation in the food, primary industries, science, environmental, Māori development or social policy sectors. Your excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills will enable you to work with diverse stakeholder groups, particularly with Māori, and you will be competent providing quality analyses, research and advice. You will have a level of knowledge and understanding of Māori values, Te Ao Māori and a minimum level of basic Te Reo Māori will be a significant advantage.  This role will be attractive to someone who thrives in co-design and problem solving within internal business settings.
