Our Innovation, Strategy and Policy team at Leiden Learning and Innovation Centre (LLInC) is looking for a:

Visual Designer (0,8 - 1,0 FTE) – Maternity leave cover until 31-08-2023

As part of the Innovation, Strategy and Policy team, you’ll focus on supporting LLInC and the faculties of Leiden University with visual designs and guidance on graphics. As our culture is hands-on and our operating language is English, we are looking for a proactive graphic illustrator or designer with fluent English language skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Creating new designs within the scope of an existing brand design system, keeping brand consistency across platforms;
  • Brainstorming with our clients and internal staff on design options;
  • Creating specific visualizations and infographics for educational content;
  • Providing visual assets for our animator and video editors;
  • Developing digital andprint workshop materials (PowerPoint presentation, posters, handouts).

Selection criteria

  • At least one year of applicable college level training in graphics design, or equivalent art school training;
  • At least one year of experience as in-house graphic designer, or an equivalent combination of training and experience;
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) and Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Word);
  • Experience with online design tools like Canva, Prezi and Animaker is a plus;
  • Animation skills are a plus;
  • Illustration skills are a plus.

In January 2023, the Centre for Innovation (CFI) and the Higher Education department of ICLON merged into the Leiden Learning & Innovation Centre (LLInC). Terms and conditions
We offer this position for a period of half a year, to cover a maternity leave, until 31-08-2023. Salary range from €2960,- to €5439,- gross per month (pay scale 10/11) based on full-time employment, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. Leiden Learning and Innovation Centre is located in The Hague.
