Offer Description

For two recently awarded Horizon Europe projects on Soil management and health we are looking for a  Scientific Project Manager in Soil sciences.

One of the projects aims to develop 15 Subsoil-Living Labs, to inventory, analyse and benchmark different land uses and their impact on the subsoil. Wetsus will lead a study to assess the effect of organic amendment on subsoil and crop production.
The other project aims to establish four regional and interconnected user-centred Living Labs in which actors from the quadruple helix cooperatively improve and monitor soil structure, soil life and crop-growing conditions on mineral agricultural soils. Wetsus will work on soil health monitoring and on assessing innovative soil management practices.

The Profile
The Scientific Project Manager is a self-leading, pro-active researcher and research coordinator in Soil sciences with affinity for working in large international cooperative research projects. He or she will be the main person representing Wetsus in the two project consortia, and contribute to the execution of the projects and the dissemination of the results.

The Scientific Project Manager bridges, and creates synergy, between the Wetsus Soil theme and the two European project consortia. He or she will be part of the Soil theme (https://www.wetsus.nl/research-themes/soil/) and the European project team at Wetsus, and consult regularly with the Soil theme coordinator and the Director Europe.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • a PhD degree in Soil sciences or related discipline;
  • knowledge on soil microbiology and organic matter;
  • experience with field and/or pot experiments;
  • talent for the coordination of cooperative research;
  • affinity with technical and financial reporting for research projects;
  • excellent team-working, organisational, writing and oral-communication skills;
  • enthusiasm for cooperation within Wetsus and within European project consortia.

When you meet the above-mentioned requirements, you are the ideal candidate for us!
