Job description

The Faculty of Law is looking for two new colleagues to strengthen its education team. You are someone who is highly enthusiastic about being part of a dedicated team that is focused on education. You have the requisite knowledge and skills to be able to teach in our European Law School and you work well with others, yet you possess the necessary drive and initiative to work independently. You are willing to think out of the box when it comes to finding a solution for a problem.

Requirements

This teaching position requires you to teach in various fields of law taught in the first and second year of the European Law School bachelor programme. You are part of a team of enthusiastic expert teachers that reports directly to the faculty’s directors of studies.

  • You have a master’s degree in law. Relevant work experience and experience in a legal academic setting are advantages.
  • You are genuinely interested in others, resilient and open-minded.
  • You have relevant teaching experience.
  • You are an active listener and effective communicator.
  • You know how to conduct yourself in accordance with the legal and ethical standards concerning confidentiality.
  • You are able to approach matters of diversity and inclusivity in a professional manner and have experience in an intercultural setting and possess relevant intercultural skills.
  • You possess an excellent command of the English language in spoken and written word. The ability to be able to communicate in Dutch is an explicit advantage.
  • You have excellent time-management skills and you are result-oriented, proactive, independent and flexible.

Conditions of employment

The positions offered are temporary positions (1,0 FTE) in the profile of Teacher 4 for the duration of three years.

The salary depends on education and relevant work experience. The salary will be set in salary scale 10 of the collective labour agreement of the Dutch Universities, minimum gross month salary € 2,960 and maximum € 3,703. On top of this, there is an 8% holiday and an 8.3% year-end allowance.

In addition to good primary employment conditions, UM also offers an attractive package of secondary employment conditions.
