Updated: over 2 years ago
Deadline: 10 Oct 2021

Who we are and What we do.
We are a renowned research lab in the field of noninvasive brain stimulation and applied cognitive neuroscience. Headed by Prof. Dr Alexander Sack, the team includes Associate Professor Teresa Schuhmann and Assistant Professors Inge Leunissen and Felix Duecker, several PostDocs and PhD students. We work in the spirit of team science, in a very cooperative, collegial, and interdisciplinary work climate.

With our research we aim to contribute to unravelling the psychological and neural mechanisms of human cognition and behavior. We use functional neuroimaging (fMRI) and electroencephalography (EEG) combined with noninvasive brain stimulation (magnetic and electric neuromodulation) to deliver fundamental insights into neurobiological mechanisms of attention, working memory, and cognitive control in healthy participants, and to derive new brain-system-based personalised interventions for clinical applications in psychiatry, neurology, and clinical psychology.

What we hope to find in you.
We are looking for a passionate and pleasant new team member. Roughly speaking, you will be able to devote at least 50% of your time to conducting research within the Brain Stimulation and Cognition (BSC) group. Your research interest should fit well within the research spectrum of the BSC group at Maastricht University. You are more than welcome to join and support our ongoing research projects but also to develop your own research line, contribute to methods development within the group, and strengthening our international network.

The remaining 50% of your work will be devoted to educational activities in the psychology and cognitive neuroscience courses and trainings of the bachelor or (research) master curricula of the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscienceand Faculty of Heatlh, Medicine and Life Sciences. Guiding students in writing their bachelor or master thesis is also an important part of your educational work.

You are expected to be a team player with an open, effective management style and should be ready to fulfil an administrative role in the faculty.
